The PortoVecchio 5G project aims to renovate the Old Port of Trieste, transforming it into a
dynamic hub for promoting education and digital innovation.
A public outdoor 5G infrastructure, along with the construction of outdoor nodes, will be
implemented in the Porto Vecchio area to improve connectivity performance, which is currently
lacking in demand across large portions of the area. Through the development of a private indoor 5G
infrastructure, PV5G will establish a fully equipped Digital Learning Center offering immersive
learning experiences and, with a quantum connection, a Quantum Communication Lab integrated with 5G
networks.
Urban redevelopment, combined with increased connectivity and the numerous opportunities
offered by the Digital Learning Center, will open up a wide range of possibilities for exploiting
the site.
